The Genesis Center Christmas Store is up and going! Christmas shopping with a purpose come see all the new Christmas decoration or select a new tree or some wonderful yard art. We have two very large rooms just full of Christmas wonderland.

Oct 21 - Oct 31 First United Methodist Church-Kaufman Pumpkin Patch and Market
The First United Methodist Church-Kaufman continues our annual Pumpkin Patch and Market. The Patch runs daily while the Market will be open for its final day this Saturday, October 25th. The Pumpkin Market features foods, crafts, produce and art. We are still looking for vendors to participate with space rentals of only $15. Many area schools bring their classes in during the week for special priced pumpkins, photo opportunities, pumpkin snacks and of course education direct from the Pumpkin Patch Scarecrow. Look for updates on Facebook at FUMC Kaufman. All proceeds from the Pumpkin Patch and Market benefit First United Methodist Church local outreach ministries and the children and youth programs.

Oct 25 Kaufman Texas Scarecrow Festival 2014
The Kaufman Texas Scarecrow Festival is a community celebration welcoming visitors to our town and historic square.  Join us for a parade, live bands, kids' games and amusement, shopping with unique vendors, great food trucks, magic shows, bike stunt shows, circus acts, and a community blood drive(Carter Bloodcare) to give back to those in need.  Kaufman and the town square have a rich Texas history documented with historical markers and tours available year round.   Come and let us show you some small town Texas hospitality.

FOR PARADE PARTICIPANTS:  You must be pre-registered by Friday, October 17, 2014 to participate in the Scarecrow Festival Parade.

    FOR PARADE VIEWERS:  Parade will start at 9 am at Kaufman High School and travel up Washington St. and through the Town Square to Shannon Park.

    FOR PARADE PARTICIPANTS:  You must be pre-registered by Friday, October 17, 2014 to participate in the Scarecrow Festival Parade.  Parade line-up will begin at 7:00 AM on Saturday, October 25, 2014.  All entrants must be at the Kaufman High School parking lot by 8:00 AM.  Horses will stage at the South Campus of Kaufman County (across FM 1388 from KHS) and will be at the end of the Parade.  Due to safety/space issues on the square 18 wheelers with trailers are prohibited.

    Entrants that wish to be placed together in the parade must arrive together at the KHS parking lot.  Only Entrants will be allowed in the KHS parking lot. NO DROP OFFS! (If your vehicle is not in the Parade, you may park in front of the HS, at the Jr. High, or behind the schools off CR 151 and walk participants to the float - NO EXCEPTIONS.)

    ALL ATV and motor vehicle drivers MUST be at least 16 years old and present a valid Texas Driver's License upon request in order to drive in the Parade.

    The Scarecrow Festival Parade ends at Shannon Park.  All unloading must occur at Shannon Park or back at the KHS or South Campus parking lot - NO EXCEPTIONS.  Due to safety issues unloading on the parade route especially at the Square is prohibited - NO EXCEPTIONS!
